The Why's Answered
Why Did I write this book?

Why do I call Jesus "Yeshua"?

Why the 1560 Geneva Bible?
Before the King James Bible of 1611, there was the 1560 Geneva Bible—an influential English Bible of the Reformation era.
When compiling What Did Jesus Say?, I chose this earlier translation for Yeshua’s spoken words. Translated by English Protestant scholars in exile from Greek and Hebrew sources, it was created to make Scripture accessible to ordinary people.
The Geneva Bible also carried extensive marginal commentary, some of which King James strongly opposed. I use none of those notes in my book—only the biblical text itself.
I’m not suggesting anyone replace their preferred Bible. I simply chose to go back to an earlier English translation and let Yeshua’s words stand without adding my own interpretation.
Why the Geneva Bible? Because sometimes looking again means going back.
