About Melanie Joy
I have always been someone who asks why.
I tend to look beneath the surface.
I have never been very good at accepting something simply because that is the way it has always been explained.
If I want to understand something, I ask questions. I research. I follow one question into another—and sometimes find myself somewhere I never expected to go.
That curiosity has taken me in directions that may seem unrelated at first—Scripture, language, history, the human body, energy, and natural approaches to wellness. But for me, the process has always been the same.
I want to know what is actually there. I want to understand where an idea came from, look at it from more than one direction, and decide for myself what I believe.

I have always been a collector.
Not necessarily of things, but of pieces that catch my attention.
I can spend hours along the water looking for rocks—turning them over, noticing what makes one different from another, and bringing home the ones that make me stop and look twice.
I suppose I approach life much the same way.
I notice something. I pick it up. I look closer. And I want to know what is really there.
My curiosity has taken me in directions that may seem unrelated at first.
I have spent years studying the words and teachings of Yeshua, tracing the Gospel accounts and looking closely at the original Greek and Hebrew behind familiar words.
That same desire to understand has led me to explore the human body, energy, and natural approaches to wellness.
I don't see these interests as belonging in separate boxes. They are simply different places where I have wanted to look closer, understand more, and decide for myself what the evidence reveals.
The subject may change. The way I approach it does not.

Give me sunshine, water, a trail to wander, or a pile of rocks to explore and I am happy.
I love movement, quiet spaces, creating things, changing things, learning things—and occasionally rearranging an entire room because it has looked the same for three months.
I am serious about the things that matter to me, but I also love to laugh. I value my family and friends deeply, while equally appreciating a little space of my own.
And somewhere nearby, you will usually find Mufasa and So-Zein—although whether they are peacefully keeping me company or actively interfering with whatever I am doing depends entirely upon So-Zein.
A Few Things That Make Me, Me
Never Stop Learning
I don't know everything. I don't expect that I ever will.
What I do know is that I never want to stop learning—or become unwilling to change my mind when what I discover asks me to.
I share what I find along the way—not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone willing to keep looking.
